Blog review of Hong Kong International Airport THE PIER (Cathay Pacific Lounge) with photos

I visited the Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific's lounge (international flights) ``The Pier'' and business class lounge in Terminal 1 of Hong Kong Airport. There is a lounge after completing immigration procedures, where meals, alcoholic drinks, showers, and other services are provided until departure. This time I will be reviewing this lounge.

It is said to be the largest and most well-equipped of Cathay Pacific's lounges at Hong Kong International Airport. This lounge also has a ``Tea House'' where you can enjoy tea.

Cathay Pacific has three business class lounges at Hong Kong International Airport: The Pier, The Deck, and The Wing, each with its own unique features.Hong Kong Airport "The Pier (Business Class Lounge)"

Cathay Pacific is a Hong Kong-based airline that, like JAL, is a member of the Oneworld Alliance.

overview

As this is an airline-operated lounge, they offer not only alcohol and other drinks, but also food, and the service is more complete than that of a credit card lounge.

Target users

You can use the Cathay Pacific Lounge if you are flying in first class or business class, or if you have a certain airline status. If you are flying in first class, you may also bring one person with you.

JAL Global Club (JGC) holders can also bring up to one companion into the club as a "oneworld frequent flyer" (Sapphire member or Emerald member).

Lounge location and directions

The Pier is located near Gate 65 in Terminal 1 of Hong Kong International Airport. It is far away from the immigration checkpoint. Therefore, please take the shuttle within the airport when using it.

The ride is free, but you can only use it to go there. The shuttle heading to the immigration area is exclusively for those entering the country.

Flights to Japan often depart from the gate near this lounge. If you are departing from a gate near the immigration area, please allow plenty of time.

As you walk toward Gate 65, you will see a signboard for THE PIER. If you look closely, it says "First Class Lounge". The First Class Lounge is located before the Business Class Lounge, so make sure you don't miss it. ▼

▼If you go further inside, you will see the business class lounge. Go down using the escalator or elevator.

reception

As soon as you go down the floor, you will immediately see the reception desk.

▼There were multiple reception staff, so I was able to enter the room smoothly without having to wait. Here, you can enter the room simply by showing your boarding pass.

tea house

``Tea House'' is a service only available at ``The Pier'' business class lounge. You can spend adult time in a quiet, dimly lit space.

▼ Panoramic view of tea house

▼There are tea leaves in the front, and you can choose the scent and order it at the counter in the back.

▼There is also a menu at the counter, so take a look at it and place your order. All of our teas are from the British luxury tea brand JING TEA.

▼You will be asked to wait a few minutes before drinking. I ordered the seasonal special Jasmine Pear Tea.

▼You can have it with tea and sweets.

▼We also have Hong Kong's famous egg tart. If you missed a meal during your stay, try it here.

▼There were also things like smoothies.

▼Detox water

dining area

Next, we will introduce the dining area of the lounge.

There is a wide variety of food available, which is hard to believe for a business class lounge.

main area

Everything is in a glass case, so you can order what you want.

▼4 types of pizza

▼Whole cake

▼Raw ham

▼Cheese

▼Pickles

▼Salad

The ice cream is Haagen-Dazs. There are four types: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and cookies and cream.

noodle bar area

There is also a noodle bar area. There are fried noodles and dim sum.

▼Order noodles here.

seating area

A wide variety of seating types are available. The seats near the dining area are mainly table seats, and the window seats are mainly sofa seats.

When you arrive at the lounge, we recommend that you first eat at a table, then sit on a sofa and enjoy an alcoholic drink while watching the planes.

My impression is that the space is quite spacious, stylish and has a lot of attention to detail. Why not try searching for your favorite place?

bar area

Alcoholic beverages are also available. There is a bar, so order from there.

relaxing area

At the very back of the lounge, there is a dimly lit space where you can take a nap.

▼Multiple beds are available. You can also sleep.
