Blog review of Hong Kong Airport THE DECK (Cathay Pacific Lounge The Deck) with photos

I visited the Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific's lounge (international flights) ``The Deck'' and business class lounge in Terminal 1 of Hong Kong Airport. There is a lounge after completing immigration procedures, where meals, alcoholic drinks, showers, and other services are provided until departure. This time I will be reviewing this lounge.

Cathay Pacific has three business class lounges at Hong Kong International Airport: The Pier, The Deck, and The Wing, each with its own unique features.

Hong Kong Airport "The Deck (Business Class Lounge)"

Cathay Pacific is a Hong Kong-based airline that, like JAL, is a member of the Oneworld Alliance.

overview

As this is an airline-operated lounge, they offer not only alcohol and other drinks, but also food, and the service is more complete than that of a credit card lounge.

Target users

You can use the Cathay Pacific Lounge if you are flying in first class or business class, or if you have a certain airline status. If you are flying in first class, you may also bring one person with you.

JAL Global Club (JGC) holders can also bring up to one companion into the club as a "oneworld frequent flyer" (Sapphire member).

Lounge location and directions

The Deck is located near Gate 6 in Terminal 1 of Hong Kong International Airport. You will find the lounge if you go through the immigration area and turn to the right.

You can find the lounge by looking at the information display. Go up the floor using the escalator on your right. ▼

▼You will see it as soon as you go up the escalator.

A calm and luxurious entrance.

meal menu

We would like to introduce you to the meal offerings.

▼There is a noodle bar.

▼At the noodle bar, you can order four types of noodles and dim sum. As for noodles, wonton noodles and dandan noodles seemed to be popular.

Types of dim sum include chicken meat buns, shumai, and custard buns.

▼I ordered chicken meat buns and custard buns.

These meat buns are large and heavy. Many people ordered it along with noodles.

The custard buns were not too sweet, and even at this size, they were delicious from start to finish.

Next is the buffet corner. ▼

I get the impression that most of the meals are rich. It goes well with wine, so you can also have it as a snack with alcohol.

seat

Next, I will introduce the seats in this lounge.

▼Table seat

▼We also have boxed seats similar to family restaurants.

▼Sofa seat

Most people were sitting at tables eating. Some of the sofa seats were dimly lit and you could sit comfortably.

What is the difference between The Pier and The Wing?

There are three Cathay Pacific business class lounges at Hong Kong International Airport: The Pier, The Deck, and The Wing.

There are three lounges, so you may be confused as to which lounge to use. The characteristic of The Deck, which I introduced this time, is that it is the smallest of the three lounges, and I think it is suitable for those who only want to eat inside.

Of Cathay Pacific's three lounges, The Deck offers the fewest services and has a somewhat disappointing impression. I think it's a good idea to use it if your boarding gate is close or you don't have much time.

However, if you have time, we recommend either The Pier or The Wing lounge.
