Ikkyu Diamond member benefits

Ikkyu's Diamond member benefits were extensive.

  • Late check-out allows you to extend the normal check-out time of 11:00 by 1 hour until 12:00.
  • This is a special benefit where the parking fee, which normally costs 1,800 yen per night, is free.
  • A half bottle of wine will be given to you upon check-in. This time I was able to choose one from red wine, white wine, and sparkling wine.

Hotel photos and reviews

This time, we arrived after dinner around 8pm. Check-in after walking around Kokusai Street. It's about a 10 minute walk from Kokusai Dori, but it was an uphill and dimly lit road.

exterior

The exterior looks like this.

Even if you come by taxi, you can park your car right in front of the entrance.

This is what it looks like from the back. It is a long hotel.

Front lobby floor

The front desk is immediately to the right after entering the entrance. Since it was late at night, there was no one checking in.

There is an aquarium in front of the front desk.

Room/interior view

The room we stayed in this time was a moderate twin room (South Building, 30 square meters). The interior of the room looks like this.

It's only 30㎡, so it's quite spacious.

Around the bed

The bed and its surroundings. I think the bed is hard. It may not be suitable for people who like soft food.

There is only one pillow. One side was a cushion and the other side was a bead type.

Pajamas are placed on the bed.

There is a telephone and a clock on the stand next to the bed. Lighting can also be controlled.

There are two outlets. Open the drawer to find a safe.

Room equipment related

There is a table and a chair by the window next to the bed.

There is a sofa and simple bed.

A TV, refrigerator, etc. are available here.

This is a small refrigerator that can hold several 500ML plastic bottles.

It's a dresser. There is also a chair, so there is no problem even for small tasks.

There is a net where you can put your suitcase.

inside the closet

Next is inside the closet. Sufficient number of hangers are available

Shoecloths are also available.

There are slippers, a scale, and a laundry basket.

Bathroom/Toilet/Amenities

It will be a unit bath like this. It's not very spacious, but it's a typical size for business hotels.

The body soap and shampoo are made by Pola.

The water pressure in the shower is a little weak. I felt something was missing.

I stayed alone, but the amenities for two people were provided.

Although the cleaning was done fairly well, there was a slight smell from the towels. Although it is an old building, it appears to have been kept well-maintained.

view from the room

It was night when we arrived, so here are some photos taken at night.

You can see the pool directly below.

There was a Don Quijote in the back.

Here is a photo taken in the morning.

Air conditioner, documents, etc.

Click here for the air conditioner settings button. You can set the temperature.

Since it is Okinawa, it is only for air conditioning. Heating is not available.

The air conditioner is installed on the ceiling near the door of the guest room.

There are paintings on the walls.

Wine I received as an Ikkyu Diamond member

This is a half bottle of Angier Brut. I was able to get a bottle of wine for about 700 yen.

Comprehensive review

Okinawa Harbor View Hotel is a historic hotel that was built in 1975, and has good access to Kokusai Street, a major tourist destination in Okinawa. Although it has a history, the building feels a little old, but the rooms are kept relatively clean and I thought it was well maintained.

Although I stayed on a Saturday and Sunday, I didn't hear any noise or vibrations from the surrounding rooms, probably because there weren't many guests. Since the hotel has a large number of rooms, it may be that the guest rooms are spread out.

I don't know if it's because the structure of the building is old, but I was disappointed that the water pressure in the shower was weak. Some people may feel that something is missing.

The comfort of the bed feels below average. The bed was hard and the pillows were low. My impression is that the hotel doesn't pay much attention to the quality of sleep.

There is a pool in the courtyard, so you can use it during the summer. Why not forget about the heat and swim in the pool? I feel that. This time I didn't have time to go to the pool.

As part of Ikkyu's Diamond Benefit, I was able to enjoy sparkling wine. We were also able to extend our check-out time by an hour.

In the end, I honestly thought that this hotel might be a hit or miss affair. It may not be suitable for people who want to enjoy a relaxing hotel life, or people who are particular about bedding and showers. However, I thought that this hotel is suitable for people who want to enjoy transportation access and a cost-effective trip.
